NMFC 104100: Cast Annealing Pots – Class 50

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Reference NMFC 104100 on the BOL and quote Class 50; no density calculation is required for these heavy cast iron pots.
2. Mount each pot on a rated steel skid or hardwood cradle with blocking; use steel banding with edge protectors around the flange or lugs to stop movement.
3. Mark lift points and center of gravity; arrange a forklift or crane suitable for the piece weight and avoid liftgate services that can’t handle castings.
4. Protect critical edges and sealing surfaces with caps or guard boards, and keep interiors covered to prevent debris contamination during LTL handling.
