NMFC 108500 - American Red Cross School Kits | Class 70

Note 108502: NOTE-Only applies on school or children's kits or chests donated to the American Red Cross, and shipper must certify on shipping order and bill of lading as follows: "Gift to the American Red Cross."

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Pack each kit or chest in a sturdy corrugated box with snug void fill to prevent shifting; seal seams with pressure-sensitive tape and avoid pallet overhang.
2. List NMFC 108500 and “American Red Cross school kits, boxed” on the BOL, request Class 70, and skip density entries since this class is not density-based.
3. If kits include small bottles, ointments, or tools, bag components, tighten lids, and keep total box weight manageable for school receiving areas (ideally under 50 lb).
4. For district bulk deliveries, use one SKU per carton, apply scannable labels for fast handoff to classrooms, and palletize with corner boards and a protective top sheet.
