NMFC 112940: Wooden Mine Props & Timbers | Class 50

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. List “Mine props or timbers, wooden — NMFC 112940, Class 50” on the BOL to lock the rating and avoid density reclass.
2. Bundle uniform lengths (e.g., 8–16 ft) with steel or poly strapping; add 4x4 dunnage runners for forklift tines and use corner protectors.
3. Flag overlength when quoting; many LTL carriers surcharge above 96 in, so request long-fork handling or side-load service as needed.
4. Keep bundles dry and clear of loose bark or debris; note if timbers are green to anticipate added weight and slippery surfaces at loading.
