NMFC 126840 - Clutches, Pulleys & Belt Guides | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Secure heavy mule pulley stands or tension carriers by bolting them to a hardwood skid; cap exposed shafts and use edge guards on belt clamps to prevent strap abrasion.
2. Bundle small parts—clutch sleeves, shifters, guides, and binder frames—into compartmented cartons, add VCI bags or oil wrap against rust, then master-pack and strap to a pallet.
3. For clutch-and-pulley or sprocket assemblies, block and brace to stop rotation, fill voids with foam or lumber, and keep the center of gravity low within the pallet footprint.
4. Mark the BOL and outer pack as “Mechanical Components — NMFC 126840, Class 85”; density is not required, and note any light preservative oils to avoid hazmat confusion.
