NMFC 128965 - Wooden NOI in Boxes/Crates | Class 60–85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Confirm the freight fits “wooden, NOI” per Note item 128546 and cite NMFC 128965 on the BOL; exclude specialty items that have their own NMFC.
2. Select packaging per weight and fragility: heavy corrugated with foam-in-place for small wooden machine guards; cleated plywood crate with internal blocking for larger fixtures.
3. Moisture-manage wood surfaces—poly bag or VCI wrap plus desiccant—especially for long lanes or humid routes; close all seams to prevent swell and rub damage.
4. Design skids for forklifts (4-way entry, no overhang), add tip-n-tells and “This Side Up” arrows, then photograph the packed unit to defend class 60–85 decisions.
