How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Secure the carriage and motor head, remove blades/bits, and pad-guard the rails and bearings before boxing or crating the assembly.
- Brace the panel rack or frame with blocking and foam, then strap it inside a heavy carton or wood crate to keep it upright during LTL handling.
- Bundle the optional tripod stand to the frame or box it separately; bag all bolts and hardware and affix to the main package to prevent loss.
- On the BOL list: NMFC 129050, Class 200, nonhazardous, packaging: packages. Mark Do Not Stack and This Side Up to protect the carriage track.
Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.
Business Value
- Fixed Class 200 eliminates density calculations, speeding quotes and reducing reclass or inspection fee risk.
- Nonhazardous status broadens carrier acceptance and simplifies documentation and accessorial screening.
- Packing the rack, carriage, and stand as one secure package lowers handling touches and damage claims.
- Accurate length and upright packing help avoid overlength and rehandling fees, keeping LTL rates predictable.
