NMFC 135580: Chrome Aluminum, Boxed/Drums | Class 100

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Quote and book at fixed Class 100: select “Chrome aluminum, NMFC 135580” and mark packaging as boxed or drum-packed to prevent carrier reclass.
2. Palletize boxes tightly—interlock layers, add corner boards, and wrap to the skid; place a moisture barrier sheet on top to avoid staining in humid lanes.
3. For drums, band each to the pallet with two steel straps, use drum rings and chocks, and ensure bungs are capped; a common pattern is four drums on a 48x40 pallet.
4. Document clearly on the BOL: include alloy or lot IDs, gross and tare per package, and label as Non-Hazmat to streamline terminal handling.
