NMFC 136140 - Cadmium Scrap, NOI | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. List the commodity as Scrap, NOI, cadmium, apply NMFC 136140 at Class 85, and choose boxes as the packaging on the BOL.
2. Use heavy corrugated or steel-lined boxes with poly liners and sealed lids to contain fines; palletize and band tightly to prevent shifting. Example: 2 pallets, 4 lined boxes each, 1,800 lb total.
3. Prevent moisture and cross-contamination: line boxes, cap or bag smaller pieces, and keep different alloy grades or sources separated.
4. If shipping in bags or drums, confirm your carrier will accept those packages under this NMFC and record piece counts and weights per package.
