To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Identify meter type and material mix (electric revenue meters, water/flow meters, brass bodies, glass faces, electronics) and note any calibration sensitivity.
2. Package by vulnerability: double-wall cartons with foam for glass dials, anti-static bags for electronic modules, and cap or plug flanged or threaded ends.
3. Palletize cartonized units on 48x40 with no overhang; band and wrap, place heavier cast bodies low, and add tilt/shock indicators for calibrated units.
4. Mark paperwork as NMFC 136700 “Meters, or Parts Named, Group,” list piece count and serials, and include accurate weight and dimensions to speed LTL quotes.
