NMFC 155840 - Wire Plant Supports in Boxes | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. List the freight as “wire plant supports, one-piece, loop/spiral ends, boxed” on the BOL and apply Class 85; density is not required for rating.
2. Shield looped or spiral ends with caps or corrugated pads inside the carton to prevent punctures; band bundles together before boxing to stop shifting.
3. Right-size cartons and fill voids with kraft or foam to control movement; avoid overpacking that could crush the loops or deform the wire.
4. Palletize boxes with corner boards and a top sheet, then stretch wrap tightly; keep end-loops oriented inward and avoid stacking heavier freight on top.
