How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Mark BOL with NMFC 161360 and Class 200, list packaging as boxes, and include accurate piece count for each carton or palletized unit.
- Secure the seat and commode bowl inside each box with internal cushioning; bag loose inserts and tape all seams. If palletizing, add corner boards and a top cap before stretch-wrapping to prevent crush damage.
- Keep light boxes on top and avoid clamp handling; use orientation arrows or a Do Not Double Stack label if the corrugate is light-duty.
- Confirm the product fits the note reference (item 161361). Example entry: 12 boxes on 1 pallet, each box listed with length x width x height for pickup planning.
Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.
Business Value
- Fixed Class 200 means no density calculation, reducing reclass fees and billing disputes.
- Predictable LTL pricing for retail replenishment and e‑commerce fulfillment, improving quote speed and margin control.
- Boxed consumer goods pack efficiently on pallets, lowering damage risk and shortening claims cycles.
- Clear NMFC alignment with the referenced note streamlines compliance checks and vendor routing guide approvals.
