NMFC 166730 - Railway Foot Guards, Iron/Steel | Class 50

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Declare NMFC 166730 and Class 50 on the BOL to prevent reclass and keep rates aligned with dense iron/steel hardware.
2. Package guards in tight bundles with steel banding and edge protectors, or palletize with blocking so pieces cannot slide during LTL handling.
3. Use hardwood dunnage between stacked layers and keep the bundle footprint within pallet edges; mark total weight and center of gravity for forklifts.
4. If shipping loose lengths or odd shapes, cradle in V-blocks or angle racks and shrink-wrap to contain sharp edges common to machined steel parts.
