How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Nest trays tightly and band into bundles (e.g., 15–25 per pack), then stretch-wrap; add corrugated slips to protect rims and feet during cross-dock handling.
- Palletize bundles on 48x40 pallets with no overhang; use corner boards and a top cap to prevent crush. Mark BOL: “NMFC 187230 Bread Delivery, in packages, Class 250.”
- Record material type (plastic or metal), bundle count, and any returnable asset IDs. Provide final dimensions after packaging for quoting even though the class is fixed.
- For lightweight, empty trays, request limited stacking or use stack cones if needed to avoid deformation. Apply clear ‘Do Not Crush’ or ‘Top Load with Care’ labels.
