How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Palletize assembled units with wheel chocks; strap through the frame, not over tires or the seat, and add edge protectors to avoid crush marks.
- If space is tight, remove the tow arm and seat, bag the pins/bolts, and zip‑tie hardware to the frame so nothing goes missing in transit.
- Cover sharp hitch ends and axle stubs with foam or caps, then stretch‑wrap to keep grease off cartons and to prevent snagging during handling.
- Block rolling parts and lock any swivel casters with tape; place the pallet so forks approach from the side opposite the hitch.
Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.

- Knockdown packing lowers cube, improving LTL rates on dimension-driven tariffs and optimizing trailer utilization.
- Non-hazardous status simplifies carrier acceptance and avoids hazmat fees, keeping total landed cost predictable.
