NMFC 195700 - Scrap Enamel Or Porcelain | Class 50

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. List the commodity as “scrap, enamel or porcelain, for reclamation only” on the BOL and include NMFC 195700, Class 50. Note non-hazardous status to streamline carrier acceptance.
2. Use sturdy boxes, drums, or five-ply bags; line containers to capture dust and shards. Cushion brittle pieces (e.g., cracked sinks, tiles, sanitaryware) to prevent fiber or bag punctures.
3. Palletize uniformly: keep weight centered, band or strap boxes, and shrink wrap with corner boards. Avoid overhanging shards that could tear adjacent freight during LTL handling.
4. Prevent contamination with oils, chemicals, or mixed metals so it remains reclaimable. Mark “For Reclamation Only” and photograph packed pallets before pickup for claims protection.
