NMFC 23395 - Tie-Down Belts/Straps in Boxes | Class 70

Note 23397: NOTE-Applies on webbing belts or straps equipped with buckles or other fasteners used to secure cargo in or on transportation equipment.

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Verify the item fits load-control use (not lifting slings or fall protection) and reference Note, item 23397 when documenting the description.
2. Pack straps and hardware in sturdy corrugated boxes; pad ratchets and hooks so they don’t punch through the carton during LTL handling.
3. Coil webbing neatly, band or bag each set, and list the piece count per box to simplify receiving and claims.
4. On the BOL, state: “Belts or Straps, Transportation Load Control (Tie Downs), NMFC 23395, Class 70, Boxed” for smooth pricing and fewer reclass fees.
