NMFC 23620 - Bird Gravel or Sand | Class 55

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. List NMFC 23620 and Class 55 on the BOL, note non-hazardous status, and specify carton count and weight to prevent inspection delays.
2. Use double-wall corrugated boxes with a sealed poly liner or inner bag to contain fines and moisture; tape seams and reinforce bottoms for heavy loads.
3. Palletize cartons on a 40x48 pallet in an interlocking pattern; avoid overhang, apply stretch wrap to the pallet base, add corner boards, and use two bands to limit bulging.
4. Keep freight dry and stow low in the trailer; mark cartons as heavy and avoid top-loading under fragile goods to minimize crush risk and leakage.
