NMFC 24780 – Depth Sounding Devices, Boxed | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Reference NMFC 24780 on the BOL and describe as “depth sounding devices, lead and aluminum, boxed” to prevent reclass charges.
2. Use double‑wall corrugated boxes with tight internal blocking so heavy lead/aluminum parts can’t shift; add edge protectors and heavy-duty tape.
3. Palletize multiple boxes on a 4‑way pallet; center the weight, mark HEAVY on all sides, and keep these dense cartons on the lower stack tier.
4. Add a poly bag and desiccant inside each box to limit moisture; seal boxes fully to avoid oxidation and abrasion during marine supply transits.
