NMFC 25335 - Aluminum Hat Bodies, Nested | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Quote and book at Class 85; list “aluminum hat or cap bodies, nested, boxed, no trimmings” on the BOL to match NMFC 25335 and avoid reclass.
2. Nest shells with kraft paper or thin foam between layers to prevent scuffing; fill carton voids so lightweight parts don’t rattle in transit.
3. Palletize cartons flat with a top cap and corner boards; stretch-wrap and use light banding to prevent crushing the thin aluminum rims.
4. Exclude visors, liners, fasteners, or other trimmings; mixing accessories can change the NMFC, impacting rates and inspections.
