How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Crate upright on a reinforced skid, brace stud bays and block plumbing runs, cap all supply/drain stubs, and label “Do Not Stack” and “Keep Upright.”
- Pad pipes with foam sleeves and corner guards; strap through studs, never over valves or traps. Example: 8' x 4' bath wall strapped at three points to prevent racking.
- Purge and dry lines before pickup to avoid leaks or freeze risk; include a pressure-test sheet and simple riser diagram; photo-document condition pre-shipment.
- Book LTL at NMFC 34790, Class 250. Add delivery appointment and liftgate if needed, or choose flatbed for oversized sections and constrained jobsites.
Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.
