To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Describe the item precisely on the BOL: “Rotating chimney cowls/caps, iron or steel, sheet or sheet-and-cast.” Include piece count, pallet count, and lock the rotor with a zip tie to prevent spin.
2. Protect the vane assembly and collar: use foam rings or custom corrugated cradles so the cap is suspended in a double‑wall carton. Add edge guards and a top cap when strapping to a 48×40 pallet.
3. If shipping multiples, nest bases with corrugated layers between caps to avoid metal-to-metal contact. Strap cartons to the pallet and mark Do Not Stack if the vanes are exposed.
