How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Confirm the magazines are empty and clean; note “stationary steel, KD” on the BOL and pallet labels to avoid hazmat confusion.
- Bundle KD panels, doors, and frames with edge protectors, then band to a pallet; bag and tag small hardware and fasteners so nothing goes missing.
- Include a piece count and packing list for each skid; cap stack height if surfaces are painted or coated to prevent rub damage from top freight.
- Quote and tender at NMFC 38570, Class 77.5; still provide exact dims and weight to speed rating and reduce reclass or inspection delays.
