NMFC 49282 - Moistened Terry Ice Towels | Class 65

Note 49283: NOTE-Applies on cloths or towels used for heat relief. The cloths or towels are intended for one-time use and require cooling or freezing prior to use.

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Use leak-resistant inner bags and absorbent liners inside corrugated boxes to contain any moisture from the moistened terry towels; seal seams with water-resistant tape.
2. Mark cartons clearly: “Moistened Cooling Towels – Terry Cloth – Non-Hazardous.” Note that items are individually wrapped and boxed; list unit counts (e.g., 24 towels/carton) for accurate BOLs.
3. Palletize upright with corner boards and stretch wrap; add a top cap to prevent crushing. Avoid top-loading and keep cartons off the floor with pallets or skids.
4. Limit heat exposure to reduce evaporation and preserve scent; ship ambient unless customer requires cold chain. Reference the NMFC note tied to item 49283 when verifying product makeup and packaging claims.
