NMFC 50223 - Copper Sulfate Coating Compound | Class 65

Note 50224: NOTE-Compounds shall consist of not less than 50 percent by weight of copper sulfate.

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Verify the product is dry and packed in sturdy boxes (or approved drums) with moisture-barrier liners to prevent caking during transit.
2. Palletize boxes with slip sheets, banding, and full stretch-wrap; keep copper sulfate compounds away from food items and reactive metals like aluminum.
3. Print NMFC 50223 and Class 65 on the BOL, and attach the SDS plus lot/batch details for traceability in fabrication shops or mills.
4. Weigh each handling unit including inner bags and pallet; rating is by weight at Class 65, so no density calculation is required.
