NMFC 65640 - Calf Feeder Pails, Metal | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Ship only when pails are nested and packaged as bundles. Add paper or corrugated sleeves between pails to prevent metal-on-metal scuffing; 8–12 per package is common.
2. Unitize on a 48x40 pallet with handles oriented inward to avoid protrusions. Use a top cap, stretch wrap, and two plastic bands; add corner boards if stacks are tall.
3. Print the BOL with: NMFC 65640, Class 85, “Pails, calf feeder, metal, nested, in packages.” Include piece counts per bundle and total pallet count for quick carrier check-in.
4. Protect from moisture in transit. Use poly sheeting or VCI paper if storage is humid, and mark reasonable stack limits to avoid rim distortion.
