NMFC 70360 – Rayon/Synthetic Flocks | Class 70–100

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Confirm density in lb/ft³ before tendering. If unknown, weigh the shipment and compute from package volume; higher density trends toward Class 70, lower toward Class 100.
2. Choose sift-proof packaging. Use poly-lined boxes or multiwall bags and stretch-wrapped bales to prevent fiber leakage and keep dust contained during LTL handling.
3. Treat as hazardous for combustible dust. Include an SDS, apply clear hazmat markings where required, and use antistatic liners or grounding to minimize static ignition risk.
4. State the NMFC (70360) and description “Flocks, rayon or synthetic fiber, NOI” on the BOL, and note that classification follows Item 170 density rules.
