NMFC 106280 - Plates, structural, NOI | Class 50

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Reference NMFC 106280 on the BOL and describe as structural steel plates, NOI to prevent reclass.
2. Bundle plates with wood dunnage and steel banding; add edge protectors and use skids that allow safe forklift entry.
3. Measure total footprint and length; long or oversized bundles can trigger overlength charges—confirm carrier thresholds (often 8–12 ft).
4. For heavy bundles, schedule dock-to-dock LTL without liftgate and block/bracing to prevent sliding during transfers.
