NMFC 107220 - Baling/Binding Ties, Band or Wire | Class 50

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Package coils or bundles securely to qualify for Class 50—use dense wrap, edge protectors, and at least two steel or poly straps, then palletize for forklift handling.
2. Cap or tape sharp wire ends and band edges; add VCI paper or moisture barrier wrap to prevent rust during transit and storage.
3. Label each package with coil/bundle count and actual weight; keep package weights uniform to make cross-dock handling faster and reduce damage risk.
4. Do not mix hardware (buckles, tools) with ties or wire in the same package; ship accessories separately to avoid confusion and potential reclassification.
