How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- List NMFC Item 108382, Class 85 on the BOL and mark packaging as boxes to match the rating and avoid reclass.
- Seal and secure the liquid: tighten caps, add a foil or induction seal if available, poly-bag each bottle, and include absorbent liner inside the box.
- Protect the sprayer: lock or tape the trigger, wrap the nozzle, and use corrugated dividers so the sprayer doesn’t rub or pierce the soap container.
- Palletize boxed kits with flat layers and edge protection; keep boxes upright and use clear orientation labels to reduce leak claims.
Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.
