Note 115031: NOTE-Does not apply on fans designed for: (1) expelling from an area, air, dust, gas, odors, smoke or other contaminants, or (2) introducing into an area, air from an outside source. For applicable provisions, see item 61700, 'Fans, NOI, including Exhaust or Ventilating Fans.'

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Confirm classification by checking Note, item 115031; note if the unit has a motor, base, or housing type, and how it’s packaged (crated, palletized, skidded).
2. Stabilize moving parts: lock or brace the impeller, cap the inlet/outlet, and drain oils. Use blocking and banding to prevent vibration damage in transit.
3. Mount on a sturdy skid with wide footprint to counter top-heavy housings. Example: 36" centrifugal fan on a 48x48 skid with 4x4 blocking and two steel bands.
4. Record full shipping dimensions and weight including guards and bases, and label orientation (“This Side Up,” “Do Not Lift By Inlet”) to avoid reclass and handling damage.
