To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Confirm the piece is a non-rotary steel hydraulic or pneumatic unit. If bundled with pumps, valves, or other assemblies, review Note, item 119262 before booking.
- Depressurize fully, drain residual oils, and cap or plug all ports. Secure rod ends and linkages; include an SDS if any fluid remains.
- Package as “packages”: use a foam-lined crate or blocked pallet. Keep cylinders horizontal, protect rod chrome, and add absorbent and drip protection if needed.
- Label hazardous per DOT and carrier rules, add orientation arrows, and print “NMFC 119260, Class 70, Packaged” on the BOL to prevent reclass or delays.
