How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Use rigid cartons with foam or molded inserts so aluminum alloy chain guides cannot bend; bag any included chain to prevent abrasion and oil transfer.
- Block and brace the steel body inside the box so the sprocket or hammer end cannot punch through; add corner protectors where banding contacts the carton.
- Palletize boxed units with a solid top sheet and two cross straps; mark Keep Upright if the chain guide orientation matters for your install.
- Show NMFC 119410, Class 60 on the BOL and include exact count of boxed devices; request non-stack if your cartons are not rated for stacking.
Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.
