Note 120781: NOTE-Applies only when the articles are used, and have value not exceeding the value for reconditioning or salvaging purposes, and only when described at time of shipment as 'used engine parts.' Used engine parts which have been reconditioned or rebuilt in any way will be classified under the specific classification item number as new.

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Reference NMFC 120780 on the BOL and note “Prepaid; see Note in item 120781” to align with carrier rules for used parts.
2. Drain all fluids, cap or plug ports, and bag oily components. Line crates or trays with absorbent pads to prevent leaks during LTL handling.
3. Pick packaging by piece type: crate heavy castings; block and brace cylinder heads or crankshafts on pallets; use banding, corner boards, and stretch wrap.
4. Record accurate piece count and weight, photograph the packed freight, and label each skid “Used Engine Parts — Prepaid” for quick dock identification.
