NMFC 124520 - Automatic Machinery, Boxed | Class 85

Note 124522: NOTE-Applies on lubricating devices which regulate or supply lubricant by air, pump, spring, steam or other pressure automatically applied, or by gravity or wick.

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Confirm your product meets the Note, item 124522 definition of “automatic” machinery and list “NMFC 124520, Class 85, boxed” on the BOL.
2. Pack in robust boxes: use double-wall corrugate or a crate-in-box, foam-in-place around controls, and block/base secure the unit before banding to a pallet.
3. Mark orientation and center of gravity; add tilt/shock indicators and ‘Do Not Stack’ cones for sensitive assemblies with servo drives or control housings.
4. Quote and tender at Class 85 (no density needed). Provide piece count, outer box dimensions, and weight to avoid capacity or reweigh adjustments.
