How to Determine Your Class
To find the correct freight class for your shipment:
- Reference Note 157182 on the BOL and select the exact sub-item that fits your form factor (strips vs. sheets, rolled vs. flat) to avoid reclass.
- For rolls, keep product wound on sturdy cores with edge guards, then wrap in poly and double-wall corrugate; block and brace to prevent telescoping in transit.
- For flat sheets, interleave with chipboard to prevent scuffing, strap to a non-ferrous pallet, and add corner protectors to keep edges true for sign-making or gasket cutting.
- Mark packages “Magnetic Material—Keep From Ferrous Surfaces” and record overall bundle dimensions and weight; orient sheets face-to-face to limit stray attraction.
Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.
