NMFC 160050 - Zinc Cable Hangers & Shields | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. List the commodity on the BOL as: “Cable Hangers or Shields, zinc or zinc-and-steel, in boxes — NMFC 160050, Class 85” to prevent reclass fees.
2. Pack sharp-edged brackets with corrugated dividers or poly sleeves to protect the zinc finish and avoid abrasion; add a moisture barrier to prevent white rust.
3. Palletize boxed units with edge protectors and two to three steel or poly straps; keep cartons flush to a 40x48 pallet and avoid overhang for dock handling.
4. Group boxes by size or SKU (e.g., zinc-only vs. zinc-steel) and mark piece counts on each carton to speed jobsite receiving and OS&D checks.
