1. List NMFC 165730 and Class 85 on the BOL, noting “steel car roofs, SU.” Density data isn’t required, but include piece count and handling notes.
2. Cradle roofs in rigid racks or A-frames with rubber-lined contact points. Block and strap securely, protect edges, and add VCI wrap or tarps to prevent corrosion.
3. Use forklifts with extended forks or a spreader beam and soft slings to avoid distorting panels. Mark lift points, center of gravity, and apply No Stack/Top Load labels.
