NMFC 170270 - Asphalt-Coated Steel Roofing | Class 55

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. List the exact NMFC on the BOL: NMFC 170270, Class 55. Use a clear line like: Roofing or Sheathing, steel, asphalt coated, with/without aluminum, copper or cement facing, in packages.
2. Palletize bundles with full-deck, 4-way pallets and zero overhang. Strap using non-marring polyester banding with edge guards; interleave slip sheets to protect aluminum/copper faces and cap corners for cement-faced panels.
3. Control moisture and abrasion: wrap in poly with non-stick interleaf, add desiccants for long hauls, and keep bundles flat to prevent panel distortion or finish scuffing.
