NMFC 177980 - Steel Coiled Springs, 5/16 in+ | Class 55

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Mark your BOL with NMFC 177980 and Class 55, and note “Do Not Cut Bands” to prevent uncoiling during handling.
2. Bundle coils with steel or heavy poly banding and edge protectors, then secure to a 48x40 pallet with blocking to stop roll and shift.
3. Keep springs flat and centered on the pallet; avoid stacking loosely. Use dunnage to lock round profiles from moving in transit.
4. Provide actual weight and pallet dimensions for rating and capacity planning, even though the class is not density-based.
