To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Confirm density to set class: weigh each packaged piece and divide by its cubic feet. Example: a 60 lb carton at 4.0 cu ft = 15 PCF, guiding your class within 50–400.
2. Package per Item 170: box or heavy poly-bag each cover, then secure on a pallet. Shield grommets, buckles, or hooks with padding so hardware doesn’t puncture adjacent freight.
3. Compress and unitize smartly. Vacuum-bag folded tarps or bundle multiple drop cloths in a single carton to increase PCF, often lowering the freight class and the rate.
4. Moisture-manage textiles. Keep fabric dry and stretch-wrap pallets; wet vinyl or canvas gains weight and can distort density numbers or cause mildew claims in transit.
