To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Bundle strips tightly with tack points facing inward; cap ends with corrugated edge guards and wrap in heavy poly or a rigid carton to stop punctures.
2. Keep piece length under 96 inches when possible to avoid length surcharges; if longer, declare the maximum length on the BOL and reinforce with sleeves.
3. For metal rims, use protective sleeves or channeling to prevent bending; for wood tack strips, add hardboard sheathing to keep nails from breaking through.
4. List on the BOL: “Upholstery or Carpet Tacking Rims or Strips, in packages, NMFC 188210, Class 60” and include count of bundles/cartons for faster inspections.
