NMFC 35315 - Screen Doors & Window Screens | Density Class

1. Verify fit: standard screen doors and window screens ship under NMFC 35315; if it is detention or security-grade, review Note, item 35316 before booking.
2. Choose packaging to match risk: use sturdy boxes for single residential screens; use wood crates for oversized patio panels or steel security mesh, with rigid edge protection and corner blocks.
3. Calculate density for the packed unit: pounds divided by cubic feet of the box or crate (e.g., 120 lb / 12 ft³ = 10 lb/ft³). Use that density to determine the proper class under Item 170.
