NMFC 40470 - Metal Hub Caps (Grease Caps) | Class 85

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Pack metal hub (wheel bearing) grease caps in sturdy corrugated boxes with dividers or partitioned trays to prevent lip deformation and surface scratching.
2. Bag parts in bulk with VCI liners or poly bags to limit moisture and grit transfer, then cushion voids with kraft or foam so small caps don’t rattle and dent.
3. When shipping multiple SKUs (sizes or finishes), separate and label inner packs with counts; note “NMFC 40470, Class 85” on the BOL for clean rating.
4. For high-volume replenishment, place sealed boxes on pallets; if using drums for bulk metal caps, secure lids, line interiors, and band drums to pallets.
