NMFC 49981 – Fruit/Vegetable Wax Coatings | Class 70

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Rate and book at Class 70 under NMFC 49981; no density needed. Clearly list “fruit/vegetable wax coatings, boxed” on the BOL.
2. Use leak-resistant inner containers and place them in sturdy double‑wall cartons with liners or poly bags. Example: four 1‑gal HDPE jugs, bagged and boxed.
3. Palletize cartons on a solid deck, no overhang. Add corner boards, stretch-wrap tightly, and mark “This Side Up” to prevent seepage and crushing.
4. Request Protect From Freezing in winter and avoid excessive heat. Wax emulsions can separate if frozen or overheated; note temperature guidance on paperwork.
