How to Determine Your Class

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

  1. Protect the glass first: sleeve or bubble-wrap each tube, cap the pins, add a small desiccant, and place in a double-wall box with molded foam or corrugated endcaps.
  2. Match packaging to tube type: receiving tubes ride well in boxes; heavier broadcast or transmitter tubes do better in foam-in-place crates. Add shock/tilt indicators and “This Side Up.”
  3. Palletize intelligently: consolidate small cartons into a master crate, band and stretch-wrap, keep everything inside the pallet footprint, and avoid overhang or top-stacking.
  4. State NMFC 63470 and the packaging (boxes, crates, packages) on the BOL. Expect a class within 85–150 based on pack integrity; photograph the packout to support claims.
