NMFC 65820 - Silo Doors, Frames & Roofs | Class 70

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Identify the component and pack accordingly: bundle silo doors or frames (steel or wood) with tight strapping and edge protection; ship steel silo roofs as KD panels in secure packages or crates.
2. Build a stable base: mount long roof panels or door frames to a full-length skid with runners and blocking to prevent flex. Avoid overhang and mark top-load only unless fully crated.
3. Protect from moisture and abrasion: poly wrap wood frames to limit swelling, and use VCI wrap or light oil on steel parts. Cap sharp edges with plywood or heavy corner guards.
