To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

  1. Confirm the item fits NMFC 84260: boxed or crated toys and games such as board or card games, dolls, model kits, kites, stuffed animals, and non-coin-op video game consoles. Use packaging that meets NMFC 2249/2296.
  2. Calculate density for rating: measure overall length × width × height of the carton or pallet (in inches), divide by 1728 for cubic feet, then weight ÷ cubic feet to pick the correct density class within 50–400.
  3. Protect retail packaging and fragile contents: double-box consoles and delicate dolls, add corner protectors, fill voids, and stretch-wrap with top and bottom straps. Avoid pallet overhang to prevent damage fees.
  4. Handle special cases: seal and polybag bubble-forming liquids upright with absorbent lining; crate or heavily pad steel-tipped dart sets; exclude coin- or currency-operated machines, which rate under different items.
