How to Determine Your Class

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

  1. Secure removable parts before boxing: bag bolts and clips, strap wheels and trays inside the carton, and immobilize the frame with foam or honeycomb corner blocks.
  2. If crating, block and brace the carriage/go-cart to stop handlebar and wheel movement, and line contact points with cushioning to prevent rub-through.
  3. Palletize boxed units to avoid crush damage; strap around the pallet and use corner boards so straps never bite into the carton.
  4. Mark orientation and stacking limits clearly (This Side Up, Do Not Stack) and note “Baby Carriage or Go-Cart, Boxed/Crated” on the BOL for proper class selection.

Note: All classifications are subject to Item 170. Verify with official NMFC publications for the most current requirements.
