NMFC 35740 - Steel Glass-Setting Bars | Class 60

To find the correct freight class for your shipment:

1. Use sturdy boxes or wood crates with internal dividers so straight steel bars don’t bow or chafe; add rust-inhibiting wrap if moisture is a risk.
2. Band bundles by uniform length before crating, then block and brace inside the crate to stop end-to-end shift during LTL handling.
3. Mark total weight and piece count clearly on the crate and BOL; this is a weight-based Class 60 item, so no density calculation is required.
4. Confirm the material is steel with no more than 10% other metals; higher alloy content can change the NMFC item and alter charges.
